The Fallen – Meet the Cast

The Fallen is a dark fantasy novel WIP. It features a band of champions facing off against an evil they are woefully unprepared for. To defeat it, it may cost them everything.

• Valin Stormblade – Silver Knight of Cheshire, and hero of the Ogre Uprising, when the armies of Cheshire rode north to stop the ogre tribes from setting up a settlement between the kingdom of Cheshire and the theocracy of Hammon. Valin single handedly saved a village from a raiding party. Unfortunately, several bands of ogres had crossed into Cheshire, and his family paid the price. He is noble to a fault, but the loss of his family has scarred him deeply.
• Marcus Steelheart – Silver Knight of Cheshire and best friend of Valin, even though the latter is over a decade older. Marcus served under Valin and the two are closer than any blood relations. Marcus worries that Valin may not have recovered from his losses, and may no longer be fit to command. Marcus doesn’t want to supplant his commander, but he harbors ambitions as well.
• Shi’An Yuang – Only daughter of the Bo (warden) of the borderland territory of Feng, Shi’An was trained as a ninja. She was named captain of a unit of Ebon Dragons, renowned scouts of Feng and of the Jade Lands Empire. When she stumbles across the demonic horror that decimated a village, Shi’An begins the trek south, seeking the source of the demon.
• Beldassare Cavaliere – Priest of Aeruus, devout Hammonite, and plagued with visions of a dark future. He travels to Cheshire to seek the ones who can stop the horror from happening. Although young, barely nineteen summers, he is wise and is believed by his peers to have been touched by the sun god himself. He is tortured by the worry that the future he sees, is a result of his actions.

These are some of the characters that feature in the novel. In the next part I’ll introduce the rest of the protagonists. The final part will discuss the villains.
